Led by Artistic Director Peter Tate and Creative Producer Gabby Vautier, the Playground Studio invests, supports
and collaborates with the most exciting artists, both established and emerging, and companies of all genres from
around the world.
In return we expect artists to push the boundaries of what they think is possible, create new ideas, let their imaginations
run wild, collaborate and play with us.
We will be re-launching the Playground Studio as a Creation Incubator with Performance venue in November 2011.
The curated programme of research and development and performances will focus on collaborations between
International and British artists. We are interested in linking together unexpected collaborators to create unique ideas
and new ways of working together.
A short film supported by the Playground Directed by Lisa Forrell, Produced by Cecilia Frugiuele for Parkville Films starring Celia Imrie, Maryam D'Abo, Naomi Sorkin and
Angelique Rivoux.
Already previewed at the V&A Museum and the Hay Festival, premiered at the 2011 Capri International Arts Festival. 2012 sees Madame Ida at The London Short Film Festival and the St Etienne Arts Festival, with more screenings to be announced.
Written by Nick Ward and directed by Simon Usher. Adapted from Heart of Darkness and Outpost of Progress by Joseph Conrad. This is a world premiere.
