Who's Who at The Playground
Peter Tate: Artistic Director
Peter Tate conceived the Playground
out of his desire for theatre artists, himself included,
to play without the pressure of dashing headlong into
'product'. He has worked as an actor in the full spectrum
of disciplines, from dance companies to multi-media events
through to more conventional theatre pieces. As the founder
and Artistic Director of the Playground he aspires to
the same eclecticism, opening the door to all types of
project and aiming to guide the artists into ever more
free experimentation.
Linda
Kerr Scott: Workshop Facilatator
Founder member of Theatre de Complicite, Linda is the
guiding light through the creative development of the
Playground. She facilates the ideas workshop, which
is at the center of the Playgrounds programme and is
herself an Affiliated Artist.
Caitriona McLaughlin: Associate Director/General Manager
Caitríona is a theatre director and actress and
has been an affiliated artist at the Playground for a
number of years.
She
has recently taken on the role of general manager at the
Playground. This is an exciting new challenge and Caitríona
looks forward to the being involved in the future development
of the Studio, its projects and its artists. The most
exciting thing about being at The Playground Studio is
seeing new ideas, often in an embryonic stage and watching
them take shape and grow in the hands of some exceptional
people.
The Playground Studio is proud to house LISPA, the London International
School of Performing Arts. The school offers a one-year Initiation
Course and a one year Advanced Course based upon the pedagogy
of Jacques Lecoq. It is founded by Thomas Prattki, former pedagogical
director of Jacques Lecoq's international school in Paris.
